Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 has a design that is still similar to the previous generation. Aesthetically not much has changed, starting from the angle of the sharp curve on the screen and body, the red accents are reduced on the rear body, except for the keyboard and ventilation holes on the back.

Honestly, we like the black color of the back cover with the aggressive design lines that make the aura of gaming more pronounced. The entire body carries a plastic material with a fairly solid build quality and weighs about 2.2 Kg. This body design is indeed not the thinnest and lightest in its class, but it is still very comfortable to carry around and is arguably still quite light for a gaming laptop.

Moving on to the screen, the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 has a screen size of 15.6 inches IPS panel type, < 100% sRGB with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which supports a 144Hz refresh rate for a better gaming experience and a 3ms response time that allows Sharp visuals and smooth gameplay are also blur-free.

Overall, in our opinion, the color display of the screen is still quite okay, whether it is used for multimedia content needs or for playing games. In addition, this gaming laptop also has a wide enough viewing angle, so that if we look at it from an extreme angle, there is no excessive color degradation. While at the top of the screen there is a webcam with a resolution of 720p, and on both sides the bezel is quite thin although at the bottom it is a little thicker.

The design and layout of the keyboard itself is still the same as the previous Nitro series. Backlit RGB 4 zones can also be adjusted as desired via the "Nitro Sense" application. Especially the WASD keys, arrow keys, and the Nitro Sense shortcut keys have different colors from other keys. If you pay attention , each of these buttons also has a fairly tenuous distance, so that when you use it, the buttons are quite comfortable and easy to press. Not hard and not stiff, everything feels right.

The touchpad comes without physical buttons, we actually don't like it, because usually when pressing left and right clicks it takes more effort, especially sometimes it doesn't fit when pressing right and left. But this does not apply to this laptop. To press the left and right click functions do not need to be too hard and the navigation is also nice and smooth. It's just that the touchpad isn't right in the middle, which tends to be more towards the left, so when we used it when typing several times it nudged the cursor with the left palm. Apart from this, just like today's laptop touchpads, the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 already supports Windows Precision Drivers that can perform multi-gesture functions with up to four fingers.

I/O Port

Regarding connectivity, the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 comes with a variety of ports. On the left is a Kensington lock, Ethernet (RJ-45), 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 and 3.5 mm audio jacks. While on the right there is an HDMI 2.0 port, 1 USB 3.2 Gen 2 and Type-C with Thunderbolt 4 port supporting.

Enter the performance section which is one of the interesting things about this laptop. Why is it interesting? as we mentioned earlier, this laptop has powerful performance but at an affordable price. With a price below 15 million for this laptop SKU, the processor already uses an Intel® Core™ i5-11400H Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.50 GHz) with an NVIDIA ® GeForce ® RTX 3050 graphics card with 4 GB of dedicated GDDR6.

For additional information, this Intel 11th Gen H Series processor comes with the new Willow Cove Core architecture with 10nm SuperFin technology. So with the Intel Willow Cove, it is designed to take full advantage of the capabilities offered by the 10 nm SuperFin technology. As a result, the Intel Willow Cove on this laptop offers a much higher working frequency.

In addition, to support its performance, the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 has a RAM capacity of 8GB with 512GB SSD NVMe storage media. If it feels lacking, users can also maximize their performance because this gaming laptop is very upgradeable, starting from the memory and storage. There are 2x NVMe SSD slots, 2x RAM slots up to 32GB, and 1x HDD slot that can be added up to a capacity of 2TB.

To test its GPU capabilities, we used several software to determine the performance of this gaming laptop, the first being Novabench with a score of "2355" points.

In addition, the test results use the Cinebench R15 benchmark. From testing, we can see, if the Intel Core i5-11400H on this laptop achieves a superior score of 1291 points , which is only a difference in points with the Intel Xeon CPU X5650. As for OpenGL graphics testing, the performance of this laptop got 131.03 fps.

Furthermore, the benchmark results from Cinebench R20 have a score of 3170 points and PCMark 10, this laptop gets a score of 5642 points.

Based on these results, the performance of the Intel Core i5-11400H on this laptop is quite high, so there is no need to doubt its ability to run software or games that require CPU performance.

Gaming test

When we try to play games that are quite heavy, this laptop also shows its performance quite well. There are two games that we play with RPG and FPS genres, namely Genshin Impact and Valorant.

In the first game, in our opinion, this RPG game requires a device with sufficient specifications so that it can be played smoothly. Now, it is proven that the Acer Nitro 5 can run the Genshin Impact game smoothly on the right graphic settings. In some parts of the bustling graphics we didn't find any frame drops, as long as playing the game it ran smoothly at 60 FPS.

Likewise in the second game, Valorant, with the graphics settings stuck on the right, the game can be played smoothly and without any problems. In crowded scenes, this game can get at 100 FPS.

Cool Boost

One of the things that make it uncomfortable when playing games on a laptop is overheating. Honestly, after playing two games for an hour, the temperature of this gaming laptop is fairly stable. FYI, for a more comfortable and smooth gaming experience, the Acer Nitro 5 is supported by a new cooling system design. In addition to the layout of the placement of two separate fans on the left and right sides, the use of a thicker heatsink design and also has 4 heat dissipation ports on the left, right and 2 on the rear which makes the thermal system performance increase up to 25% better than previous models.

Moreover, coupled with the Coolboost feature through the Nitro Sense application which can increase fan speed by 10% and CPU / GPU cooling by 9% when compared to automatic mode. The Coolboost Nitro Sense feature offers three options that users can choose from, starting from Auto, Max, and Custom.

WiFi 6

For gamers who like to play online games, this gaming laptop is also supported by Killer TM Ethernet E2600 and Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 , which makes game load and response time faster.

Not forget to present good sound, the audio quality is equipped with the Acer TrueHarmony feature which provides 8 presets through the Nitro Sense software. In addition, the presence of DTS: X® Ultra technology, can produce a sound that is quite clear. Audio on this laptop uses two speakers located at the bottom on the left and right.

Overall, the resulting audio quality is quite good with a strong enough bass beat and clear mid sound. Yes, we can say that it is enough to spoil the ears of gamers when playing games or just enjoying multimedia content.

This laptop has a battery capacity of 57 Whr 15.2 V 4-cell Li-ion which is claimed to last up to 8 hours of normal use. If you are out of the house and forget to bring the adapter, the battery life can still be relied on for less heavy use such as office or browsing. In addition to the model which is quite slim, the weight of this adapter is also light enough for the size of a gaming laptop adapter, only 500 grams. So it can be easily carried on the go.

In our opinion, this Acer Nitro AN515-57 is the latest cheap gaming laptop with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and an 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor as the main attraction. Moreover, the very attractive price is priced under 15 million or more precisely at the price of Rp. 13,564,030

If you look once again at the complete gaming specifications and features on this laptop, it's definitely interesting and worth considering for casual gamers or content creators who need powerful performance at a competitive price.
