Design HP Pavilion 15-ec2047AX Gaming Laptop

This laptop carries the Clamshell form factor, with Polycarbonate material. The design looks not much different from the previous version of the HP Pavilion Gaming series. So for those of you who have seen the Pavilion Gaming laptop, you will feel familiar with this laptop.

The color carries a combination of Shadow Black with Acid Green accents on the Logo and keyboard area. There is a shiny HP logo behind the screen and the "Pavilion" identity on the back of the hinge which is Acid Green.

For dimensions, this laptop is 36 cm long, 25.7 cm wide and 2.35 cm thick. As for the weight, the laptop is 2.08 kg, plus a charger with a weight of 483 grams. So the total is 2.56 kg.

Turning to the display, this laptop uses an IPS panel with a 15.6-inch screen size and Full HD (1920 x 1080p) resolution. The screen has a brightness level of 250 nits, and has a Refresh Rate of 144 Hz. Color coverage is 45% NTSC.

The screen has an Anti-Glare surface which certainly makes it comfortable to use without reflections of light/shadow.

The right-left frame is relatively thin, with a size of 4mm. Meanwhile, the top frame is a little thick (8 mm) because there is a 720p 30fps camera.

Turning to audio, the laptop is equipped with Dual Stereo Speakers by Bang and Olufsen. The speaker is located at the top of the keyboard with a grille motif, facing the user. B & O Audio software is available to set sound presets.

The available connectors include:
  • Left
  • 1x DC-IN

The keyboard still looks similar to the previous generation Pavilion Gaming series. Of course it is still equipped with the numpad button on the right. For arrow keys, only the up and down keys appear smaller than the others.

Black keyboard color with Acid Green accents on the edges of the keys. The backlit has an Acid Green/Green color with 2 brightness levels.

The touchpad looks the same as its predecessor Pavilion Gaming, which looks wide. Tends to widen to the right from the space-bar. There is no dedicated button for left/right click, and the touchpad also supports Windows Precision Driver.

From the entire HP Pavilion Gaming 15 review test, we also note the following conclusions.

      Things to note

Display with 45% NTSC color gamut
It's actually not a big problem, considering that the screen still uses an IPS panel, so it has good color consistency when viewed from any side. However, we do not recommend this screen for serious, or professional content creation activities, and for such activities we recommend using an external monitor.
